Garlic Prawns

Prawn are types of seafood that are consumed worldwide. Garlic Prawns are famous for their exquisite taste and texture.

Ingredients for Garlic Prawns:

  • 250 ml oil
  • 60g (21/4 oz) butter, cut in 4 even sized cubes
  • 8 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 2 small red chillies, deseeded and finely sliced
  • 20 medium raw king prawns (shrimp), peeled, tails intact
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley baguette, for serving 

 Method for Preparation of Garlic Prawns

01Divide oil among 4 fireproof dishes.

02Add 1 cube of butter to each dish.

03Prepare and heat barbecue.

04Remove veins from prawns. Crush 2 cloves of garlic into each dish and divide chilli among the 4 dishes.

05Heat dishes on a barbecue flat plate until butter is very hot and bubbling.

06Add 5 prawns to each dish and cook for 3-4 minutes or until prawns are pink and cooked through.

07Sprinkle with parsley and serve with the baguette.


  1. Prawns can be cooked in a pan on a hotplate. Heat oil with butter, garlic and chilli in a medium pan.
  2. When bubbling, add prawns and cook until pink.
  3. Preheat oven to 210° C (415°F/ Gas 6-7). 
  4. Heat 4 heatproof serving dishes in oven. 
  5. Remove dishes from oven and place 5 prawns in each dish.
  6. Spoon some oil into each dish.

Your Garlic Prawns are ready!!!
