Ingredients for Haleem :
- 1+1/2kg chicken
- Wheat 200g
- Chickpea lentils 100g
- Black lentils 100g
- Red lentils 100g
- Yellow split gram 100g
- Rice 100g
Spices used in Haleem Masala (base)
- Garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 small packet of haleem mix
- 1tbsp salt
- 1 cup of oats
- 1tbsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp chill flakes
Cooking Method of Haleem
01 Keep the wheat in water overnight. Merge all the lentils in a bowl and leave them in water for 2-3 hours.
02 Pour 1 cup oil into a cooking pot, drop in the chicken, and add 2 tbsp garlic paste. Cook for a few minutes.
03 Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp red chilli powder, 2 tbsp cumin seeds, and 1 small packet of haleem mix (available at the spices section in local stores).

05 Mix well, cook it for a few minutes, and add 1tbsp salt along the way.
06 Add 3 liters of water and cook for 40-45 minutes. Now take the chicken out of the stew and put the overnight wheat inside the pot with the stew. Add all the rest of the lentils as well.
07 Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp red chilli powder, 2 tbsp cumin seeds, and 1 small packet of haleem mix (available at the spices section in local stores).
08 Mix well, cook it for a few minutes and add 1tbsp salt along the way. Add 3 litres of water and cook for 40-45 minutes. Now take the chicken out of the stew and put the overnight wheat inside the pot with the stew. Add all the rest of the lentils as well. Add 1 cup of oats and mix well.
09 Add 3 liters of water and add 1tbsp ground black pepper and 1 tbsp chill flakes. Cover the pot and leave it for 2 hours. Make sure to give it a mix every once in a while. In the meanwhile, cut the previously cooked boneless chicken into small pieces and put it inside the pot. Use a blender to properly mix in all the ingredients
10Now take a separate wok and add 3 onions and 2 cups of oil. Fry the onions until brown. Put the onions inside the bowl. Add some ginger and green chilis for extra taste. Serve it with lemon, fried onions, green chillis, ginger and coriander.
