Seviyan is basically vermicelli cooked with sweet milk, some nuts and spices. Extremely popular in the sub-continent. Usually consumed on happy occasions.

Seviyan or Sweet Vermicelli Recipe

Ingredients for Seviyan or Sweet Vermicelli Recipe:

  • 3 liters milk
  • 1 tbsp green cardamom powder
  • 2 packets vermicelli/seviyan
  • 1 cup dry milk powder
  • 7 tbsp desiccated/crushed coconut
  • 3 tbsp crushed almonds
  • 2 cups sugar

 Method for Preparation of Seviyan or Sweet Vermicelli Recipe:

01Boil the milk. Once it simmers, add in the cardamom powder.

02Then add in your vermicelli and cook it well.

03Mix in the milk powder for the ultimate "khoya" flavor.

04Add in the coconut, almonds and sugar and mix well to prevent the vermicelli from sticking at the bottom of the pan.

05Once the vermicelli is cooked, serve and top them with pistachio and almond slices.
